| | | | | | | Withit was started in 1991 as a family enterprise by Mr Dolph Zahid in Brighton,UK. The store excelled in selling locally designed t-shirts alongside other gift items. This proved to be such a success that a further 6 stores were opened around the UK. Bradley Caines, initially a t-shirt designer, joined forces with Withit and together they created a recognisable brand for the company and by 1998 the Withit characters were born. By this time the Brand had a following of loyal customers and was being retailed at over 200 other independent clothing and gift stores.
The big break for Withit came at the October 2001 Brand Licensing show where they were approached by WH Smiths to produce a range of 'back to school' fashion stationery for stores throughout the country. The line was a huge success when launched in 2002 with stock demands so high that product needed to be flown in to meet consumer demand.
Since that 2001 show, Withit has diversified into producing many different products including footwear, toiletries and cosmetics, bags and phone accessories to name just a few. It is a strong ethos of the company to maintain its individuality and therefore each licensee works very closely with the company in order to create its own uniquely styled Withit product.
PR has included Heat and Closer magazine front cover with Charlotte Church wearing Withit Wellies, Sneak magazine, Girl-talk, Sugar, Marie-Clare, Happy, Top of the Pops, ReFresh, Bliss, Mizz and the Daily Express.
The combination of organic growth, hard work, professional expertise and knowledge has contributed to the success of Withit and the licensees and retailers who work so closely with the company; their combined achievements included being nominated for Brand License of the year in 2005. | | |
